Hanckel Marine is locally owned and operated by the Hanckel family since 2000. Miles and Pam Hanckel have 3 grown children Milo, Hope, and Ryan. The love of boating and the outdoors inspired the father and son duo, Miles and Milo, to establish the business, with Milo at the helm. Pam and Hope each have active roles in the company as well. Hanckel Marine is a full-service boat dealership located on Savannah Highway in Charleston. The entire Hanckel family was born and raised on the water in the Lowcountry, spending time fishing, boating, and sailing. Their personal experience on the local waterways brings a wealth of knowledge to their business.
“Life on the water starts here” is the philosophy of their business. It conveys the message that no matter where you are on your boat life journey, Hanckel Marine is the place to begin. Whether looking to purchase a new boat, fix up an old boat, or if you make your living by being on the water, they are there to serve your needs. They have been awarded the title “Best Place to Buy a Boat” for the past 15 years by the Charleston community. Hanckel Marine is proud to be on the Top 10 Dealer list for Sportsman, Blackfin, and Monterey boats. They are committed to sharing their joy of boating and knowledge to help their customers select the perfect boat to suit their lifestyle.
The purchase of a boat is exciting with so many great options. Hanckel Marine has years of expertise and understanding of all types of boats to help their customers through the entire process. They offer new and pre-owned dual console, center console, and bay boat models for sale. They are the exclusive Lowcountry dealer for Sportsman, Blackfin, and Monterey, ranging from 20’- 35’.
Hanckel Marine has one of the Lowcountry’s most extensive parts and service department. They have a world-class reputation and are honored to claim the nationally recognized Yamaha 5-star certification with 3 Certified Yamaha Master Technicians. They are dedicated to care for your boat long after the sale.

Hanckel Marine has 20 wonderful employees. Pam says, “Our employees go above and beyond to serve our customers each day. We hear compliments from customers who rave of the help and care given to them in all areas, parts, sales, and service. They are the heart of our business.”
The Hanckel family feels lucky to live in Charleston because life here revolves around the water and beautiful scenery. They love taking the boat out to enjoy God’s creation. There is no better way to encounter it all than being on a boat. They enjoy spending time offshore and inshore fishing, pulling up to the local island beaches by boat, and exploring the rivers. Sport, the family’s yellow Labrador Retriever can often be spotted lounging on the back of a boat.

The opportunities for a fun day of boating are endless in the Charleston area. The Hanckel family is grateful they can provide the necessities for the community to join in this experience.
The workday at Hanckel Marine is always fun when customers stop in to share their fishing stories and happy and often comical times on the water. “It is fulfilling for our employees and to us knowing we each had a part in helping them,” said Pam. It is their goal to help provide those happy experiences for their customers.
The Hanckel family looks forward to serving your marine needs. When the time arises, remember, Life on the Water Starts Here!
