The Boulevard Real Estate Company
By Debbie Lagestee
When it comes to real estate whether buying a new home or selling your current home, having a realtor with an abundance of experience is priceless. Cathy Fischer has just that to offer her clients. She has been a full-time realtor for 22 years. Cathy began her career in the greater area of Hartford, CT. In 2010, she made a life change and moved to Charleston, SC, and continued in real estate. Cathy is a realtor for The Boulevard Real Estate Company. She works with buyers and sellers throughout Charleston, Dorchester, and Berkeley Counties. Cathy has always had a love for real estate, as a young girl she would drag her parents to local open houses, now she gets to host and attend open houses for a living!

Cathy’s philosophy is to treat her clients like family. She spends time with buyers listening to their needs, learning the essential criteria in a new home, and their desires for neighborhood amenities. When representing a seller, she advises of staging ideas for the home, advertises and shows the home to prospective buyers. Cathy also handles the contract negotiations, all paperwork and supervises the closing. She is there to help her clients reach their real estate goals. It is her objective for their experience to be such that they become clients for life. Cathy’s greatest inspiration is seeing a smile on her clients’ faces when they find the perfect home and ultimately when she hands them the keys. “Making friends that last a lifetime is worth all the effort,” says Cathy.
Cathy treats every day like a treasure hunt, looking for the perfect house, or searching for a buyer for a house she has for sale. She admits, “sometimes it feels more like a unicorn hunt,” but she continues to put her knowledge and expertise to the test. Over the years she has earned the trust of many happy buyers and sellers. She once worked with a client moving from London, at the time her brother had been living in Hampstead Heath, a section of London. The client said he had only been to Hampstead Heath once. As It turned out he had actually been to a 4th of July party at her brother’s home. Cathy quickly realized in a world of millions of homes it really is a small world.
Cathy grew up in New Jersey but lived most of her life in Connecticut. She loves spending time with her 2 sons Michael and Paul and her wonderful daughter-in-law, Katie. Cathy has 2 dogs of her own and 2 grand dogs. Cathy is a resident of Carolina Bay, she feels so fortunate to live in this beautiful community and as a bonus, she is close to her son Paul and his wife Katie, who live in Carolina Bay as well. Cathy loves the beach, kayaking, playing pickleball, the theatre, the farmer’s market, and dining out. She is doing her best to stay healthy during the pandemic so some of her favorite activities have been put on hold, but she looks forward to the day they can resume.
With more than 2 decades of experience, Cathy has learned that it is highly unusual for anyone to choose to just up and move. In most cases, it represents a time of change for those involved, often for a happy reason, a new job, marriage, a growing family, or retirement. Sometimes the situation can be sad, a divorce, a death, or a loss of a job. Cathy is committed to being there for her clients helping to find the right size home for their next adventure. Cathy began her love affair with the Charleston area in the early ’80s while vacationing on Kiawah Island with her family. Over the years it became clear that at some point she would live here full time. She was able to achieve that in 2010 after both her sons already made the move. Charleston is her home now. Cathy states, “My experience, making such a change, has helped me in my business. I understand the millions of questions, the uncertainty, the stress, and the excitement of a new adventure. I bring my experience, understanding, knowledge, and patience to each of my clients, whether buying or selling.” The next time the need for a realtor arises, you can put your faith in Cathy and her experience, she will meet your needs and get the job done!
